Barbara Jean Rowan, 72, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Dorminy Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 Sunday afternoon at Paulk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rowan was born July 5, 1938 in Tifton to the late Lewis V. Taylor and the late Madge Decker Taylor. She lived in Valdosta for more than twenty years and moved back to Fitzgerald in 2001. Mrs. Rowan was retired owner/operator of Barbara’s Bridal Boutique in Valdosta and was active in the business community. She was a member of the Elks Club in Valdosta and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Rowan was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fitzgerald and was secretary of the Fitzgerald Senior Singles.
Mrs. Rowan is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Denise & Don Hoffman of Fitzgerald and Lori Maxine & Mike Henderson of Albany; son and daughter-in-law: Jesse M. & Kathy Davis of Fitzgerald; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Bill” Rowan.
