Obituary

FALL RIVER … Gilbert R. Leduc, 82, of Fall River died Tuesday, February 22, 2011. He was the husband of Rosemary (Sweeney) Leduc.
He was born in New Bedford a son of the late Osiase and Adeline (Lammarre) Leduc and had lived in Fall River since 1936.
He was employed at Ashworth Bros. Inc. in various capacities for 37 years until his retirement in 1993. His final title was that of Process Engineer. He was also employed at J&J Corrugated Box prior to that for 10 years until 1954.
Mr. Leduc had a strong interest in motorcycles and in later years the “dirt bikes” became his main hobby. He was a member of St’s Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church where he was married 47 years ago. While not very active there recently he was a member of the BPOE #118 in Fall River. He was a former regular Army member, having enlisted during the Korean Conflict from which he was discharged with the rank of Sgt. Having served both in Korea and European Theaters.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons: Thomas M. Gastall of Somerset and Robert G. Leduc of Dighton, five grandchildren: Patrick and Janna Leduc, Michael, Lauren, and Julie Gastall, numerous nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Irene Johnson, Edmond, Napoleon, Norman, and Edgar Leduc.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday at 9AM at St’s Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church, Pulaski Street, Fall River. Interment will be private. At the request of the family there will be no calling hours.
