Robert N. Creeden 58, of Brockton, died February 22, 2011, after a 2-year battle with melanoma. He is the beloved husband of Terry “Okie” (Kassack) Creeden. Robert was a lifelong resident of Brockton and was the son of Edward Creeden and the late Eleanor (Auger) Creeden. He was a 1970 graduate of Brockton High School. Robert entered the Marine Corps the following year where he proudly served on active duty till 1973, discharging as Corporal. Robert returned to Brockton and became a third generation Master Plumber. He was employed for more than 20 years for the Morton Hospital in Taunton and only stopped working due to illness. He was a member of the Falmouth Elks; a class “C” senior champion golfer and former officer at the Brockton Country Club; an avid bowler at the Westgate Lanes for over 30 years; and a great supporter of Buddy’s Union Villa in Easton. He also has the distinction of paring the 18th hole at Pebble Beach.
Robert will be remembered as a man with a fun, outgoing nature who loved his friends; his home city of Brockton; the US Marines, but most of all his loving family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Kerry and his father Edward, both of Brockton; his sister Patricia Droukas and her husband Roger of Florida; his sister Deborah Burt and her husband Adolphus of E. Bridgewater; and his Godchildren Jerry, Robbie, Dawn, Billy, and Philip. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his sister Cindy Creeden.
Visitation will be at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 1-3 and 6-8 pm. Funeral procession forming from the funeral home Friday at 8am, followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein Parish/ St. Edward Church at 9am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
