Frances L. Craven, 94, of Derry, NH died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center of Derry. She was born June 4, 1916 in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of Charles and Katherine (Taylor) Reed. She was raised and educated in the Cleveland area. Mrs. Craven resided for many years in Fresno, CA. prior to moving to Derry in 2006. Mrs. Craven was a bookkeeper, and was employed with several different companies including Merrill-Lynch Co. in Salt Lake City, UT. She also owned and operated a motel in Clear Lake, CA., with her first husband. She was a resident of Birch Heights of Derry, and was a member of First Parish Church of Derry.
Members of the family include her son, Donald Wierman of San Diego, CA., three grandchildren, Gary Wierman of Rogers, AR, Melissa Parker and Selby Wierman, both of San Diego and also by six great grandchildren. Mrs. Craven was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Clyde G. Wierman in 1993, her second husband James F. Craven in 2003, a daughter, Ginger Wierman, and also by her grandson, Donald Wierman.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday March 5, 2011 at 10AM in the First Parish Church, 47 E. Derry Rd., Derry. The burial will be held in the Pamona Cemetery, Pamona, CA at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Parish Church, 47 E. Derry Rd., Derry.
