BRAWLEY, George L. Passed away at his Westwood home after a long illness, February 21, 2011. He was 81 years old. Born in Boston, he was raised in Mission Hill and had lived in Westwood for 51 years. George was an Airman 1st. Class in the Air Force Korean War. He retired after 33 years with New England Telephone and A.T. and T. George worked in the Pro Shop for 10 years at the George Wright Golf Club in Hyde Park and was also a 22 year employee at the McDonald Funeral Homes in Weymouth. Late member West Roxbury Lodge of Elks #10 and Mission Hill Post and American Legion Post #327. Beloved husband of Ruth A. (Kane) Brawley. Father of David A Brawley married to Maureen of Norfolk, Ma., Arlene V. Trask married to Bob of Hampstead, N.H., Kevin J. Brawley married to Kathy of Wrentham, George C. "Chuck" Brawley married to Charlene of Gaithersburg, MD. and Ruthann B. Lawler married to Paul of Wrentham. Brother of Arlene R. Brawley of Westwoodand the late Virginia Brawley (Sr. Amatha O.P. Dominican Monastery) David Brawley and Henry Brawley. Also survived by 15 grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Friday Feb. 25th. at 9am. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St. Westwood at 10 o'clock. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited. Interment New Westwood Cemetery.
