Thomas G. Stone, 63, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at Berkshire Place after a 23 year illness. He was the husband of Janeen (McDonald) Stone.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a son of Helen M. (Connolly) Stone and the late Norton F. Stone. He had lived in Johnston since 1981.
Mr. Stone was a graduate of LaSalle Academy and Rhode Island College. While in the US Navy, he served as a surgical corpsman aboard the Naval Hospital Ship USS Repose, Vietnam. He was a Medical/Surgical equipment designer and distributor and had owned Thomas G. Stone, Inc. before retiring. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Courtney E. Mungovan and her husband, David of Cumberland and Adam T. Stone of Alexandria, VA, two grandsons, Ethan T. Stone and Shane D. Mungovan and two brothers, N. David Stone of NH and Robert L. Stone of FL and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Saturday at 8:00 AM from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Visitation Friday 4-7PM. Burial with military honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery.
