Gloris F. Chiras, 84, of Chester, NH, died Saturday February 19, 2011, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Nashua, NH on November 18, 1926, a daughter of Romeo and Rose (Aussaing) Cote, and had been a resident of Chester since 1979, formerly living in Derry, NH. She and her late husband Bill, co-owned Bill's Buy-Rite in Derry for over 40 years. She enjoyed summers spent in Wells, ME, enjoyed bird-watching at home in Chester, and enjoyed her two cats. She also enjoyed traveling to Bermuda, attending plays, and spending time with her granddaughters and great granddaughters.
She is survived by two sons, William Chiras, III of Chester, Paul Chiras and his wife Elena of Franklin, NH; two daughters, Debra A. Chiras of Chester, and Lynne V. Donahue of Derry; four granddaughters, Christine Gauvain of Nashua, NH, Erica Donahue of Derry, Renee Rousseau of Franklin, and Victoria Chiras of Chester; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Caron, and Rory Rousseau; one brother, Robert Cote of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William Chiras, Jr. in 2005.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Massabesic Audubon Society, 16 Audubon Way, Auburn, NH 03032. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
