Mr. Mario P. Poto Sr., age 83, a Medford resident for over sixty years, formerly of Boston´s North End, passed away Thursday evening unexpectedly at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Maria (Forziati) and Luigi Poto. He was the beloved husband of the late Carmela D. (Macri). Mr. Poto worked close to thirty years for the State Street Bank in Boston as a salesperson. He retired in the early 1980´s. He was devoted to his family and was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Mystic Valley Elder Services, 19 Riverview Business Park 300 Commercial St. Malden, MA 02148.
Mr. Poto is survived by his children; Mary Modugno and her husband Albert of Woburn, Mario P. Poto Jr. and his wife Lenora of Stoneham, Elaine Frick and her husband Stephan of Medford, Steven Poto and his wife Denise of Woburn. He is also survived by seven loving grandchildren and six loving great grandchildren. Brother of Benjamin Poto of Revere, Peter Poto of Brockton, Louis Poto of Everett, the late Nicholas Poto, Vincent Giardini and Amelia Poto.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Monday, at 8 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. James Church 779 Fellsway Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitng hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will cocnlude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
