Julia P. (Brennan) Brooks, a 23 year resident of York, Maine, formerly of Medford and beloved wife of the late Clyde B. Brooks, died at the Winchester Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 17, 2011. She was 82 years old.
Born in Hartford Connecticut, on February 5, 1929, she was the beloved daughter of the late James P. and Rena (O’Rourke) Brennan. Julia was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. She was an active communicant of St. Christopher Church in York, Maine and was also a member of the Red Hat’s. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and walking on the beach. Above all, Julia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be sorely missed by her loving children; Clyde B. “Chuck” Brooks, Jr. of Seattle, Washington, Deborah M. Hannafin of Medford and Denise M. Wicks of Medford, devoted sisters; Grace Daly of Everett, Ethel Hutchins of Bedford and Lillian Bartlett of Charlestown, eight grandchildren; Brian, Michael and his wife Sara, Chip, Sean, Julie, Erica, Colleen and Trevor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Donations in Julia’s memory may be made to the Susan B.
