DRACUT - Robert Fletcher Holt, 85, a former accounting executive with two prominent NewEngland insurance companies, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, at the Palm Manor Nursing Homein Chelmsford after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Teresa E. (Cecchini-Hansford) Holt,with whom he would have celebrated a 19th wedding anniversary this February 15th.
He was born in Epsom, N.H., the son of the late Clarence and Laura (Fletcher) Holt.During WWII, he served stateside in the U.S. Army. He was discharged as a Master Sergeant,and was awarded the WWII Victory, American Services, and Good Conduct Medals.
He worked in operations for The National Grange Insurance Company in N.H. and later BostonInsurance in Mass. in the Machine Accounting Departments.
He was also a member of the Dracut American Legion.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a step son and daughter-in-law, Herbert L. ‘Larry’ and his wifeChristine (Amos) Hansford of Chester, England, U.K., and three grandchildren, Amber Michelle,Ryan Thomas and Patrick Joseph Hansford.
He was also husband of the late Elinor (Eifert) Holt, and brother of the late Marion Holt.Visiting hours Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeralservices will follow at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the funeral home. Interment will beprivate.
