Duxbury – Winifred M. (Kennedy) Smith 88 formerly of Bridgewater died Saturday February 19 at Bay Path Rehabilitation & Nursing Center of Duxbury. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles A. Smith.
Born and raised in Dorchester she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Campbell) Kennedy and a graduate of Dorchester High School, Class of 1939.
She is survived by her loving children Charles A. Smith and his wife Elizabeth of Rockland, Robert F. Smith and his wife Kathleen of Halifax, and Geraldine M. Yazbek and her husband William of Abington, her brother Joseph Kennedy of Quincy, and her sisters Louise Garneau of Florida and Barbara Marquardt of Abington as well as 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Virginia Bodio and Charles Kennedy.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday February 24 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a mass at 9 AM in the St. Bridget Church, Abington. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday February 23 from 5-8 PM.
