Mashpee – Douglas “Doug” Gallego, 55, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 11, 2011. He was born June 12, 1955 in Acushnet, MA to the late Helen (Macomber) Gallego.
Doug was a loving father, treasured grandfather, caring brother and a friend to many. He had a vast variety of hobbies but loved spending most of his time with friends and family. After graduating from New Bedford High School in 1975, he served in the Air National Guard as a Tech Sergeant for 16 years.
Survivors include his son: Keith Gallego; his daughter: Krystal Parsons; two granddaughters: Sierra and Amber Parsons; three grandsons: Kayden, Kolbe and Kaleb Gallego; his brother: Kent Gallego; and his sister: Pamela Allen.
The family invites his friends to join in a celebration of his life on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the Aqua Grille, 14 Gallo Road, Sandwich, MA.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Southcoast Hospice Group, 200 Mill Road, Suite 120, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
