Elsie B. ( Young ) Ransom of Stoughton, the beloved wife of over 58 years to Harold E. Ransom passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday February 12, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts. She was 78 years old.
Born on June 19, 1932 in Medford, Massachusetts she was a daughter of the late Leroy F. and Ruby C. ( Gault ) Young. She attended Cambridge Public Schools and was a graduate of Cambridge High School, CLASS OF 1951’.
Elsie was a member and attended the First United Methodist Church of Stoughton. Her hobbies included Gardening, Interior Decorating, travelling to the beaches and ocean's of Cape Cod and most of all spending quality time with her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family. She will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
Besides her husband she is also survived by her children, Carolyn B. Ransom of Omaha, Nebraska, Edward H. Ransom of Foxboro, MA, Jacqueline R. Bragel and her husband Joseph of Littleton,MA, Christina L. Walsh and her husband Matthew of Pembroke, MA and Renee’ Z. Ransom of Mansfield, MA. She was also the loving mother of the late Kathleen E. McBride and a sister to the late David, Donald and Robert Young. Other survivors include her three sisters, Marion Gross of Peabody,MA, Dorothy Dugray of Keene, NH and Edith Boudreau of Virginia and her 8 grandchildren and 1 great – grandchild.
Her funeral service was held on Wednesday February 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. The Reverend Jan Eve Martin - Parke officiated. Visiting hours were held prior to the service from 9 - 10:45 A.M. Burial followed at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton,MA.
