Obituary

Michael J. "Junior" Giancola, 83, a lifelong Franklin resident, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Franklin, February 7, 1928 a son of the late Michael Giancola Sr. and Philomena (Genoa) Giancola, he was raised and educated in Franklin. He retired as a machinist at the Thomson National Press Co. in Franklin where he worked for more than 27 years.

He was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary's Church, and a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens.

He is survived by a brother-in-law, former Franklin Fire Chief Francis J. Molloy and his wife Denise of Port St. Lucie, FL, his companion and dear friend Alice Vipraio of Franklin, and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Charles Giancola, and Louise Molloy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday, February 21, at 11:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.oterifuneralhome.com with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Calling hours are Sunday, February 20, from 2-5PM.
