Aubrey Coolige Richardson, 86, of 1811 Fall Creek Drive, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born in Raleigh, NC on December 6, 1924, he was the son of the late Coleman Richardson and Ruth Haymore Richardson. He was married to Bernice Brown Richardson on February 23, 1953. He had worked in the weave room of Dan River, Inc.; he was a veteran of the US Army, serving during WWII. During his tour of duty, he was held as POW for 29 days.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Richardson is survived by one brother, Earl Richardson and his wife, Nadine, one niece Penny Hill and her husband, Jim, and two nephews James Hill and Joe Hill.
Graveside services for Mr. Richardson will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Highland Burial Park at at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rick Lancaster officiating.
Barker Funeral Home will be serving the Richardson family.
