NAPLES, FL - Bernadette J. (O’Rourke) Carr, age 56, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 7, at theNaples Community Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. She was the wife of Charles E. Carr,with whom she had celebrated a 36th wedding anniversary this past June 17th.
She was born in New York, Dec. 16, 1947, a daughter of the late Timothy W. and Ethel(Murphy) O’Rourke. She was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury MemorialHigh School with the Class of 1966. She lived in Tewksbury the greater part of her life, then Emporia, Kansas, before moving to Naples two years ago.
As a resident of Tewksbury she was a Communicant of St. William’s Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Charles E. Carr Jr. of Kansas; onegranddaughter, Olivia A. Carr; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Timothy O’Rourke of IL,Kevin and his wife Evie (Evans) O’Rourke of Salem, NH, Stephen and his wife Karen (Boucher)O’Rourke of Chelmsford, MA; one sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Norman McGrath ofSalem, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass was held Monday, Jan. 12, in St. William’s Church. Interment was in TewksburyCemetery.
