Marie Anne C. Mayer, 82, of Great Rd. North Smithfield, died Tuesday evening at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Adrien “Babe” Mayer.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Anna (Guertin) Vadenais. She resided in Woonsocket for most of her life and lived in North Smithfield for the past 17 years.
Mrs. Mayer worked for American Tourister and later for AT Cross before retiring in 1992.
She was a former member of the North Smithfield Senior Citizens Club.
Marie Anne’s life revolved around her family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Letourneau and his wife Irene, and Glenn Letourneau and his wife Linda, all of Woonsocket, a daughter Jan Lemoine and her husband Dennis of North Smithfield, a step-daughter Susan Beauregard of FL, five grandchildren, Craig, Matthew and Holly Letourneau, Kelly Millette and Wendy Pires, 2 step- grandsons, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Roland Vadenais of Woonsocket, and the late Adrien, John, Alfred Yvonne, and Irene Vadenais, Rena Laquerre, and Jeannette Breault.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St., Slatersville. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8 pm.
