BROWNING - John C. Browning, 72, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Shands Medical Center in Jacksonville. Mr. Browning was born June 30, 1938 in Zanesville, OH and moved to Yulee, FL in 1998 from Hilliard, FL. He was a former member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church and current member of Blackrock Baptist Church. Mr. Browning was an avid golfer and retired from the Nassau County School Board. He is survived by his wife, Pattie Browning; a brother, Gary Dale Browning; one daughter, Marjorie Miller; two sons, Perry Browning and David Browning; two step children, Joy Major and Dean Porter; multiple grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gordon Kent Browning and Gregory Keith Browning. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, at Blackrock Baptist Church.
