Obituary

Philip C. Mignault, 89, passed away on Feb. 14, 2011 in Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of Helen (Bartnicki) Mignault with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Beverly on Oct. 12, 1921, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Nicholas) Migneault. He was raised and educated in Beverly and attended Beverly High School. Philip was an honorably discharged 20 year veteran of the United States Army and Navy, serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He retired from the military in 1961, having served in the U.S. Army Infantry for 4 years in the South West Pacific Zone during WWII. Philip reenlisted for 16 years with the U.S. Navy from 1945-61, where he served on various destroyers and was an instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. A dedicated and faithful servant to his country, he received the American Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon and American Theater Campaign Ribbon. Upon his retirement fro the Navy, he was employed at the New England Electric System in Salem for 28 years. He and his wife, Helen enjoyed traveling to many countries throughout their life together.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his special niece Maureen Twarog and her husband Lou, 8 godchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Jeannette Darcy and Henry Migneault.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Sat., Feb. 19, 2011 at 10:30AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield. Burial will follow in Wenham Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9-10AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Rose of Lima Parish, c/o 17 Prospect St., Topsfield, MA, 01983 or a charity of one’s choice
