TEWKSBURY - William F. “Billy” Sullivan III, age 53, a member of a well known family inTewksbury, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Jan. 7, at his home following a brief illness. He was the husband of Denise M. (Delaney) Sullivan, with whom he had celebrated a 30thwedding anniversary this past Sept. 9th.
He was born in Brighton, April 15, 1950, a son of the late William F. Sullivan Jr., and Dorothy(Claflin) Sullivan. He was a lifelong resident of Tewksbury, and was graduated from TewksburyMemorial High School’s Class of 1968.
Prior to retirement, he worked as a manager at Colonial Gas company in Lowell.
He was a lifelong communicant of St. William’s Church, and was an active volunteer at severalarea programs for intervention and recovery of drug and alcohol abuse.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tara J. and Gerard “Jay” Bellemareof Pepperell; a son, William F. Sullivan IV of Tewksbury; two grandchildren, Joseph P. Sullivanand Alexandra Bellemare; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Claire McGrath of Norton, Carol andher husband George Hazel of Tewksbury; a brother, Richard “Rick” Sullivan of Mansfield; hisfather-in-law, Jeremiah “Jerry” Delaney of Tewksbury; and three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jeremiah “Jay” and Corinne (Cefalo) Delaney of Tewksbury, Daniel “Danny’ and Jeanne(Corson) Delaney of Bedford, NH, Thomas Delaney of Bonita Springs, FL; and numerous nieces,nephews, and cousins.
His Funeral Mass was held Monday, Jan. 12, in St. William’s Church. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
