Pastor J.A. Clements, Jr., 80, of Ocilla, Georgia died Monday, February 14, 2011, at his home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Wednesday, February 16, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla. Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Pastor Clements was born January 27, 1931 in Irwin County to the late Jacob Alvin, Sr. and Martha M. Ranew Clements. He was a 1947 graduate of Ocilla High School. He was a former Regional Manager for the Georgia Department of Revenue Income Tax Division and was a former employee of Robins Air Force Base. Living in Ocilla most of his life, he was a retired Baptist minister serving Riverside Baptist Church in Waycross, New Hope Baptist Church in Turner County, Salem Baptist Church in Ben Hill County, Holt Baptist Church and Pinetta Baptist Church in Irwin County and Dorminy Mill Baptist Church in Ben Hill County.
Pastor Clements is survived by his wife, Pauline “Polly” McMillan Clements of Ocilla; Daughters and sons-in-law: Sherry and Kurt Wilmot of Lands Crossing Community and Lisa and Dr. Jim Luckie of Fitzgerald; Grandchildren: Allison Tucker, Adam Tucker, Abbie Tucker, and J.T. Wilmot. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula, a son, Jacob, a sister and a brother.
