FRANKLIN—Carolyn A. (DiLuzio) McCoy 85, of Franklin, died Saturday February 12, 2011 at Milford Regional Medical Center following a illness. She was the beloved wife of Bernard J. “Bern” McCoy.
Born February 5, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Domenic and Caroline (Gambone) DiLuzio she had been a resident of Franklin since 1994 and was a former longtime resident of Bellingham.
Mrs. McCoy was raised and educated in Philadelphia, and until her retirement, worked as a secretary for the superintendent of schools for the town of Bellingham.
She enjoyed knitting, reading, and all the Boston sports teams and was an avid Facebook user. She was also a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and was part of its prayer shall ministry.
Mrs. McCoy treasured time spent with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 66 years she is survived by a son; Bernard J. McCoy of Hopedale, 2 daughters; Delores M. McCoy of Woonsocket, RI, and Carolyn A. Cavalieri of Franklin, a sister Lenora McCoy of Georgia. Also surviving are her grandchildren Katie & Anthony Cavalieri.
She was the sister of the late Vito DiLuzio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Thursday February 17th, at 12Noon in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
There are no public calling hours.
Due to floral limitations at the cemetery, the family suggests donations in her memory sent to St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin, MA 02038 would be appreciated.
