William V. Donahue, 76, a resident of Methuen, MA., died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
He was born August 31, 1934 in Methuen, MA, to William Donahue & Rita (Abbott) Murphy, educated in Methuen Local Schools. He served in the United States Navy he served 16 years until he was Honorably Dicharged. He worked for Western Electric for 26 years until his retirement in 1994. According to his family he loved to travel and loved sports of all kinds to watch like the; New England Patriots, New York Giants, Boston Redsox, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins and he was a NASCAR Fan as well. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Monica Parish in Methuen, MA.
He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth "Betty" A. (Donohoe) Donahue and his step-father John Murphy of Methuen, MA. his daughters: Jacqueline and her husband Michael Hersey of Salem, NH, and Evamarie and her husband Robert Casey of Salem, NH, Sons: Leo and his wife Cheryle Donahue of Derry NH & Russell and his wife Charlene Donahue of Broken Arrow, OK, Step-daughters: Robin and her husband David Gordon of Methuen, MA. Linda Smith and her partner Kathryn Maxham of Ashburnham, MA, Step-son: Robert and his wife Kris Smith of Merrimack, MA. Grand children: Mandy and her husband George Calouro of Haverhill, MA, April Hersey of Derry, NH, Timothy Gordon & Matthew Gordon both of Methuen, MA. Alecia Donahue and her fiance' Brian Bicher of Maywood, NJ, Stacey Donahue and her finace' Rob Lawrence of Manchester, NH, Kerri Donahue of Derry, NH, Russell Donahue and his wife Lindsey of Broken Arrow, OK, Jaime Henson and her husband Taylor of Tulsa OK, Dylan & Kelley Smith both of Merrimac, MA, Jacklyn Donahue of Salem, NH, and James Ahearn of Methuen, MA. Great grand sons:Aidan Delorey of Derry, NH, and Dylan Donahue of Broken Arrow, OK, Jacob Boivert of Salem, NH. His sisters: Patricia and her husband Victor Duphily of Methuen, MA, Mary Ann and her husband Mario Cavallaro of Derry, NH, Doreen and her husband Jeffrey Adair of Methuen, MA. One brother: John Murphy of Lawrence, MA. as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11:00AM at St. Monica Church in Methuen, MA.
