June I. Connors , 81, of Hudson, NH, died Sunday February 13, 2011 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, NH following a six year battle with Alzheimer‘s Disease. She was born in Somerville, MA on June 1, 1929, daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Schofield) Gillis. June grew up in the Medford, Billerica and Somerville area’s of Massachusetts and had spent the last few years in Derry, NH. When she was young she enjoyed singing hymns with her mother. June worked as a secretary and office manager for All-Brite Cleaning Company in Wakefield, MA. She was a member of the Moose Club for many years and enjoyed bowling, painting, writing songs and poetry, playing Rummy, Cribbage and trivial pursuit. June had a great sense of humor and wit which she passed on to her family.
She is survived by her eight children, Deborah Flynn of Wakefield, MA; Stephan Connors of Alpine, NY; Thomas Connors of Kingman, AZ; Bryan Connors of Tewksbury; MA; Susan Terban of Londonderry, NH, Christopher Connors of Epping, NH; Lauri Main of Alton, NH and Heidi Barrale of Strasburg; PA, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her sister; Ruth Vozzella of Derry and also by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Henry F. Connors in 1982, two brothers, Raymond and John Gillis and a sister, Carol Rollins.
Following cremation funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 10am in the Church of Christ, 97 Farley Dr., Nashua, NH. The burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA in the springtime.
