Marion Ann (Conserva) Doherty passed away on February 12, 2011. She was 86 years old.
Born in Medford, Marion was a resident of Arlington, Lexington and West Dennis, MA before moving to Gainsville, VA where she resided for the past 4 years. Marion enjoyed family and wonderful times on Cape Cod. She loved cooking fabulous meals for her family and friends and was the “hostess extraordinaire.” Marion had many dear friends in Lexington, MA and Gainsville, VA and enjoyed sharing stories of the numerous books she would read. She was a member of the Legion of Mary at the Holy Trinity Church in Gainsville, VA where she was an active member who enjoyed friends and activities.
Marion was the loving wife of the late Francis X. Doherty, her devoted husband of 46 years. She was the beloved mother of Dawn Schlott and her husband Jay of Paradise Valley, AZ, Paul Doherty and his wife Patricia of Santa Barbara, CA, Lee Doherty and his wife Mona of Ruckersville, VA, Lisa Hedlund and her husband Shane and Dan Doherty and his wife Babs of Gainsville, VA. Marion was the dear sister to Ralph, Martin, Joseph, John, Barbara and Michael Conserva and the late Charles and William Conserva. She was the cherished grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at Saint Camillus Church, 1185 Concord Turnpike, Arlington on Thursday, February 17th at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the Mass from 10:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be on Friday, February 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
