WEBSTER/NORTHBRIDGE - Antoinette T. (Dirgincus) Sroczynski, 96, formerly of Worcester Road, Webster, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 in St. Camillus Health Center, Whitinsville. Her husband of 41 years, Peter A. Sroczynski, died in 1996.
She leaves a nephew, George Lapinsky and his wife Alice of Marco Island, FL; 3 nieces, Lucille Barton and her husband John of Braintree, Barbara Cleary of Grafton, who was her caregiver, and Esther Zinkus and her husband Bob of Worcester; a dear friend, Joan Milson of Pennsylvania; and her caregivers and friends at St. Camillus Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph and Anthony Dirgincus and by 4 sisters, Josephine Dirgincus, Frances Dirgincus, Anna Kasulis and Lucy Banionis.
She was born in Charlton, the daughter of George and Ona (Yankauskas) Dirgincus. She lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Webster in 1954. She had resided in Northbridge since 2007.
Mrs. Sroczynski was a cook and later the manager of the cafeteria at Bartlett High School in Webster. She previously was an inspector at Reed & Prince Company in Worcester.
She was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica in Webster for many years.
A memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 19, at 11:00 AM in the chapel at St. Camillus Health Center, 447 Hill Street, Northbridge. Entombment in the mausoleum at Saint John’s Cemetery in Worcester will be private. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to either St. Camillus Health Center, 447 Hill Street, Whitinsville, MA 01588 or to Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
