Elizabeth J. (Hyde) Mawson age 82 of Salem, NH, died Sunday at the Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, MA.
She was born in Swampscott, MA, grew up and was educated in Saugus, MA, where she graduated from Saugus High School. She was a resident of Salem for over 60 years.
Betty worked in the cafeteria for the Salem, NH school system, working at the North Salem and Woodbury schools. She was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Salem, the Salem Lions Club, & a member of the Sound-A-Bouts Polka Club. She enjoyed baking, jigsaw puzzles, polka dancing, bowling, bingo at Foxwoods, and Newfound Lake.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph G. Mawson. She was also predeceased by her brothers Raymond & Robert Hyde.
She is survived by her Sons: Bruce & his wife Donna Mawson of Fitchburg, MA
Richard & his wife Susan Mawson of Derry, NH
Daughter: Brenda & her husband Jerry Hyland of Pelham, NH
Sister: Janet Turner of Salem, NH
3 Grandchildren: Jason, Joseph, & Mary

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16th at 10:30 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15th from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
