Mr. Edward Albert Lawson, age 72, widower of the late Betty Lawson, of Pinnacle, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Surry County on February 8, 1939 to the late Adam and Eva Rierson Lawson. Mr. Lawson worked as a Truck Driver and was a member of Slate Mountain Baptist Church. Mr. Lawson is survived by one son, Larry Lawson of Reidsville, NC; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Lawson of Asheboro, NC; one step-son, John and Karen Steele of Pinnacle; one sister, Stacy Gallant of Westfield; one grandchild; and three step-grandchildren. Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers; and one sister. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Slate Mountain Church at 11:00 A.M where he will lie in state one hour prior to the service with Pastor Ricky Martin, Pastor Chris McMillian and Pastor Danny Hall officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 14, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
