Margaret L. (Lyons) Tulis, 90, of Franklin died February 10 in the Franklin Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late James Tulis who died in 1980.
Born in Franklin, May 27, 1920, the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (McLaughlin) Lyons, Mrs. Tulis was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Mrs. Tulis had operated the Dean College alumni office for over 30 years before retiring.
She loved to read, dance and to swim.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Vallee and her husband Robert of Franklin, James Tulis and his wife Judy of O’Fallon, IL and Gerald Tulis of Boston.
She was the sister of Harry Lyons of Milton, Jean Knight of Rockledge, Florida, Daniel Lyons of Naples, Florida, Betty Ranieri of Franklin, and the late Louise Colbath, Ray Lyons, Stella Meier, James Lyons and Ann Ravinski.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert and James Vallee, Andreelise Grover, Lisa Osgood, Andrew, David, Michael, Matthew and Rebecca Tulis.
She was also the great-grandmother of Brydie, Shay, Lucy and Beatrice.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 16 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
