Barbara Marie (Stevens) Harpell, 80, of Natick passed away on February 4.
Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Harpell and mother to the late Stephen Harpell, Barbara was born on September 27, 1930 in Framingham.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Patricia Harpell of SC; her sister Shirley L. Kearney and brother-in-law Kevin J. Kearney of Switzerland; her daughter-in-law Joanne Sandow of Natick; her grandchildren Katherine St. Hilaire of SC and Russell Sandow of Natick; and her nieces and nephews Doug Savage, Karin DeSantis, Brian Kearney and Tina Jaillet.
A resident of Natick for 55 years, Barbara was a true "townie." Barbara created beautiful gardens and was in tune with nature; she was a gourmet cook, avid reader and a follower of the arts. Her visits to her ancestral home of Rockport brought her great joy and comfort, as did the companionship of her friends. Renowned for her artwork both with the brush and the needle, Barbara shared her gift with many.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, February 15 from 3-5pm, with Memorial Service at 5pm at the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. at Natick Common.
