SPENCER; Marion E. (Andrews) Sebring Young, 94, of 46 Irving St., died Thursday, February 3 at the Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton.
She was the wife of Arthur E. Young who died in 2000.
She leaves her grandchildren; Brenda Cloutier and her husband Vincent of Spencer, Marc Perreira of Lakewood, Colorado, two great-grandchildren, Brian V. and Nicole C. Cloutier of Spencer, her step daughters; Jeanine Bengston and her husband Earl of Spencer, Patricia Cloutier and her husband Richard of Houston, Texas, Charlotte Young of N.Y., Katherine Paine and her husband Richard of Worcester, several nieces and nephews and her black cat "Inky".
She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Leon K. Sebring in 1968, her daughter, Louise A. Perreira in 2010, three brothers; Harold, Carroll and Gordon Andrews and a stepson, James Young.
Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of Percival & Emma (Carroll) Andrews.
Mrs. Young was a librarian at the Richard Sugden library in Spencer for 22 years. She was instrumental in starting the Children’s Library and became the first children’s librarian, retiring in 1980.
She was a graduate of David Prouty High School Class of 1938. Prior to Marion’s death she was the longest living member of the First Congregational Church of Spencer and served on its Benevolence and Administration Committee’s and was a Deaconess. She was an avid reader and enjoyed vacationing in Maine.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 13 at 2 P.M. at the First Congregational Church, Main St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Spencer Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 187, Spencer or the Spencer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 147, Spencer, MA, 01562.
