In Stoughton, February 7, 2011 Elmer R. Sargent, age 81 passed away in Goddard Nursing Center in Stoughton after a period of failing health. Elmer was the husband of Alice (DeCoste) Sargent of Raynham. He was born in Chelsea, Ma to his late parents Benjamin & Dorothy (Kann) Sargent. Elmer has resided in Raynham for the past 50 years where he raised his family. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. Elmer was a manager for the former Morse Shoe Co. in Canton. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Elmer leaves his children; Richard Sargent & his wife Carol of Taunton, James Sargent & his wife Nora of Raynham, Donna Roche of Taunton and Kathleen Macedo & her husband Eric of Taunton. Elmer also leaves his 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings; Edward Sargent of NH., Benjamin Sargent of Raynham and the late Herbert, Jack and Myrton Sargent. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma. 02780 on Friday, February 12th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 6-8 pm. Interment in Pleasant St. Cemetery in Raynham.
