Barbara A. Lombardi, 79

Barbara A. (Johnson) Lombardi, 79, of Plainville formerly of North Attleboro, Foxboro, and Mansfield passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday February 7, 2011.
Born in Franklin, MA on October 1, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Mabel (Ellis) Johnson.
Barbara grew up and was educated in Franklin, and was a graduate of Franklin High School. She furthered her studies and was a graduate of the Tufts Dental School in Somerville.
A retired Training Coordinator, Barbara had worked for several years at TAC Worldwide in Newton before retiring and had formerly been a longtime employee at the Motorola Corporation in Mansfield.
A resident of Plainville for the past four years, she had previously resided in North Attleboro for 4 years, in Foxboro for 25 years and in Mansfield for over 25 years.
Mrs. Lombardi had attended the First Congregational Church Old Town in North Attleboro and while living in Mansfield, she and her family were members of the Mansfield Congregational Church.
An accomplished painter, Barbara loved gardening and attending Renaissance Faires. She was also an avid traveler and Anglophile, and especially treasured the wonderful times spent with her adoring family.
She is survived by her devoted children Karen L. Scott and her husband Dale of North Attleboro, Susan P. Lombardi of Brockton and Steven C. Lombardi of Keene, NH. The dear sister of Elinor Lang of South Yarmouth, Lois Dykens of South Carolina, Kenneth Johnson of Florida, Marjorie Saylors of Plainville and the late Roy Johnson and Russell Johnson, she is also survived by her cherished granddaughter Lindsay Laidlaw of New York City, NY as well as her many loving extended family members, niece and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday February 12th at 10:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church Old Town, 675 Old Post Road, North Attleboro. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 A.M.. at the First Congregational Church Old Town.
