
WEBSTER – Ann Gertrude (Massicotte) Parrow, 90, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, at the Meadows of Leicester. Born June 9, 1913, in Webster, the daughter of Arthur and Balbina (Wisniewski) Massicotte, she was a lifelong resident of the town until a massive stroke in 1996 sent her to 24 hour nursing care at the Meadows of Leicester.
Mrs. Parrow worked for over 35 years as a shoe stitcher in various shoe-making establishments in Webster. In 1970 she opened a variety store in North Oxford with her late husband, Richard A. Parrow, a business she managed until retiring in 1975.
Known affectionately by all as “Annie,” Mrs. Parrow was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Louis Church in Webster for many years. She was a beloved mother, sister and aunt, as well as a friend to anyone she met.
Survivors include her only child, Alan A. Parrow and his wife Carol of Clermont, FL; twin grandsons she adored, Gregory and Kevin Parrow (both enrolled in the University of Central Florida); a sister, Marion Brisbois (at the Meadows of Leicester); numerous nieces and nephews (including 2 who were with her when she passed, Norma Giroux and Mary Massicotte); and her cherished friends and caretakers on the staff at the Meadows of Leicester.
The funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 9, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours are from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday, Jan. 8, in the funeral home.
