Marjorie E. (Cosgrove) Creeden, 90, of East Walpole formerly of Mansfield passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, on Sunday February 6, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late William F. Creeden who died on June 13, 1995.
Born in Plymouth, MA on January 4, 1921, she was a loving daughter of the late George B. and Nancy R. (Smith) Ellis.
Marjorie grew up and was educated in Mansfield. She was a 1938 graduate of Mansfield High School. Mrs. Creeden had made her home in East Walpole for the past 50 years.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Marjorie enjoyed crocheting, knitting and spending time with her family. While a resident of Mansfield, she was active with the Mansfield High School Marching Band.
She is survived by her devoted children Nancy-Ellen Bodas of Coventry, RI, Patricia F. Bailey of Keystone Heights, FL, Michael J. Creeden and his wife Loesje of Sandwich, Patty F. Cangiano and her husband John of North Attleboro and the late Mark J. Creeden, The sister of the late Patricia Brooks, she is also survived by her daughter in law, Mark’s wife Wendy Creeden of Walpole, as well as 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday February 10th at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday February 9th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Marjorie’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Caritas Hospice 3 Edgewater Drive Norwood, MA 02062.
