Janice E. (Plouffe) Capachione of Wareham, formerly of Brockton died on her 80th birthday Friday February 4, 2011 at the Tobey Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Pasquale Capachione. Born in Brockton a daughter of the late Robert and Venita (Houde) Plouffe, Janice was a 1949 graduate of Brockton High School. Since 1990 she had resided in Wareham.
For several years Janice had been the activities director for the Middleboro Council on Aging. Previously she had been a teacher’s aide at the Downey School and director of the Wales Home in Brockton before its closing. She was also a dance choreographer and was a cofounder of the Plouffe School of Dance and founded the Brockton High School Half-time Dancers. In her free time she enjoyed refinishing antique furniture and ice skating. Janice treasured most the time spent with her children and grand children.
Janice leaves her six children Michael and his wife Patti of Wareham, Jean Govoni of Macon, GA, Peter of West Bridgewater, Stephen and his wife Geraldine of Whitman, Paul and his wife Pamela of Middleboro and Richard and his wife Renee of Acton. She was the sister of Robert Plouffe of Virginia, Gloria Carlson of Falmouth, Phyllis Hancock of Brockton and Denise Plouffe Rummel of Campobello, Maine. She also leaves 20 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8 am. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church Brockton at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 pm. Donations in Janice’s name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 311 Arsenal Street Watertown, MA 02472.
