Ann Dortch Buchanan, 67, Woodlawn, died Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Don Lee and Chaplain Ernest Brockman officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday and from 10:00 AM until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born in Stewart County, May 7, 1943, the daughter of Carl Dortch and Elizabeth Cook Dortch. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Billy Dortch and two sisters Maxine Unger and Frankie Dortch. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and a twenty year member of Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department she also retired from Josten's She is survived by her husband Jerry J. Buchanan of Woodlawn, one son Jerry D.(Donna) Buchanan of Indian Mound, one daughter Theresa (Billy Joe) Compton of Indian Mound, six brothers Maurice, Neil, Pat, Steve, Kenny and Mark Dortch, seven sisters Lucille Murray, June Mahoney, Joyce Hedrick, Jo Summers, Sandy Pigg, Sue Coakley, Phyllis Dortch, four grandchildren Chance and Geri Leigh Buchanan and Levi and Zachary Compton and one great grandchild Aiden Kirkham Pallbearers will be Levi, Zachary and Billy Joe Compton, Chance Buchanan, Jon Kirkham, Kyle Farrington and Daniel Michalski. Honorary pallbearers will be Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department members. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department 2274 Woodlawn Rd. Woodlawn, TN. 37191.
