TEWKSBURY - Loretta A. (Manie) Chaisson, age 66, died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 4, atSaint’s Memorial Medical Center in Lowell. She was the wife of Louis C. Chaisson, with whomshe had celebrated a 43rd wedding anniversary this past Aug. 13th.
She was born in Winchester, June 30, 1937, a daughter of the late Edward and Iva (Dixon)Manie. She was raised in Woburn, and was graduated from Woburn High School in the Class of1954. She moved to Tewksbury in 1961.
Prior to retirement in July 1999, she was employed as a secretary for ADAX Machine Companyin Chelmsford.
She was active in St. William’s Parish activities, and worked alongside her husband at the St.William’s Men’s Club activities. She had closely supported her husband's term as Grand Knight of the Fr.Coppen’s Council, K of C, 4336.She was an accomplished quilt maker, and was a member of the Lawrence St. Methodist ChurchQuilting Group. She was also an avid family camper, and had spent a winter-month each yearsince retirement in Florida campgrounds.
Besides her husband she is survived by five children and their spouses; Michelle and her husbandLt. Col. Dwayne Turmelle, U.S.A.F., of Barrington, NH, Edward and his wife Katherine (Durkin)Chaisson of Tewksbury, Colette and her husband Joseph Williams of Westford, Glenn and hiswife Brenda (Martin) Chaisson of So. Windsor, CT, Robert and his wife Lorrie (Marchand)Chaisson of Methuen; a sister and brother-in-law, Deanna (Manie) and her husband Chuck Perryof Woburn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Rev. John C. Chaisson of St. Adelaide Parish in W.Peabody, and Patricia (Quinn) Chaisson of No. Weymouth; ten grandchildren, Stephanie andChristine Turmelle, Jessica, Jennifer, and Robert Williams, Karah Chaisson, Joseph, Michael, andOlivia Chaisson, and Tyler Chaisson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister-in-law of the late Vincent Chaisson.
Her Funeral Mass was held Thursday, Jan. 8, in St. William’s Church. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery,No. Tewksbury.
