Phyllis A. (Little) Sullivan, age 81 years, of Brockton died Wednesday evening February 2, 2011 at St. Joseph Manor, Brockton after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr. of Brockton.
Phyllis was born in Winthrop, MA, daughter of the late Andy V. and Margaret (Adams) Little and lived in Brockton for most of her life. She attended Mount St. Joseph Academy and St. Patrick High School. Her career was most notably marked by her Management/Buyer position at the Unique Boutique along with her many years at Dunnington’s Drug Store, Teen Haven and FastPrint. She had also been a member of several organizations including the Catholic Mother’s Club and the Quota International Inc., Club.
Phyllis, an accomplished singer and former professional model, enjoyed all forms of the arts and theater, traveling, and the Boston Red Sox. However, family was the most important thing to her and she especially enjoyed her time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children Margaret M. “Peg” MacBarron and her husband Peter of Brockton; Daniel J. Sullivan, III and his wife Julie of Leander, Texas; Kathleen A. “Kate” Sullivan of Brockton; Colleen P. Sullivan-Locchi and her husband Jerome of W. Bridgewater and Brenda L. “Breck” Sullivan-Carpenter of Brockton. Phyllis also leaves 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marylou Buckman.
Visiting hours will be held in Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123), Brockton, MA on Monday, Feb. 7 from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Christ the King/ St. Colman Parish at 10 am. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery.
