Mrs. Rita M. (Renaud) Macomber, of Taunton, died Wednesday, February 2 in Marian Manor following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late George F. “Fred” Macomber. She was born 94 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Zephier and Malvina (D’Amour) Renaud. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a stitcher for a local manufacturer. Mrs. Macomber enjoyed sewing, reading, listening to music and spending time with her family. She was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Church in Taunton.
She leaves: 1 daughter: Jean Jardim and her husband, Joseph of North Dighton, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alfred Renaud, Rose Czepiel, Henry Renaud, Andrew Renaud, Roger Renaud, Blanche Lavoie and Edmund “Sonny” Renaud.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, February 7 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
