Raymond Medeiros, 82, of N. Dartmouth died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Hathaway Manor extended Care Facility in New Bedford. He was husband of the late Honora D. (Pershake) Medeiros.
Born in Westport, son of the late John and Virginia (Medeiros) Medeiros, he had lived in Dartmouth since 1995. A veteran of WWII and the Korean War, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Prior to retirement in 1990, he was a machine operator for a local construction company. Mr. Medeiros was a member of the American Legion Post 0462 in Boston.
Survivors include a son: Michael R. Medeiros of Dartmouth; 3 daughters: Carol Ann Salva of Westport, Mary Ann Lawlor of Fall River and Barbara L. Pare of Dartmouth; 6 brothers: Manuel Medeiros of CA, Arthur Medeiros of MA, John Medeiros of NV, Alfred Medeiros of MA, Joseph Medeiros of NV and Eugene Medeiros of MA; 3 sisters: Irene Veloza of CA, Lucy Flores of CA and Patricia Lundstum of RI; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was father of the late JoAnn Medeiros.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 5 – 7 P.M.
Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
