Frank Spilewski, 94

Frank Spilewski, 94,of Centerville formerly of Foxboro and Mansfield passed away on Wednesday February 2, 2011 at he Golden Living Center-Garden Place in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances C. (McCarthy) Spilewski to whom he was wed for over 40 years at the time of her death on June 6, 1989.
Born in Milford, MA on June 15, 1916, he was a dear son of the late William and Martha (Nekraszevich) Spilewski.
Frank grew up and was educated in Mansfield. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School. After marrying his late wife Frances, he moved to Foxboro where he had made his home for over 40 years.
Mr. Spilewski resided on Cape Cod, in the village of Centerville, for 30 years following retirement in a house he built himself, with help from his brother, nephews and Jimmy Nisil.
A retired Carpenter, Frank had been employed for over 20 years at the former Mercury Company of Norwood, where he was a member of the Machinist Union. He retired in 1981.
He also worked in the Quincy Shipyard during the war in support of the war effort. Prior jobs also included piece work for local bleacheries and tanneries.
Frank enjoyed vegetable gardening and yard work till well into his 90’s.
The dear brother of Josephine DeLa Feuilliez of Florida, Helen Bielan of Mansfield and the late Malvena Morgan and Adam “Ski” Spilewski, Frank is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
His Funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday February 7th at 9:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter St., Foxboro. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday February 6th from 2-4 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
