Timothy O. Moore, 68, of Groton, Passed away Monday at his home.
He was born in Concord, NC on February 9, 1942 the son of Hayes F. Moore of Independence, VA and the late Bobbie A. Rogers Moore. After receiving his education, he served in the US Navy from 1959-1963.
Tim was employed at Electric Boat in Groton for 37 years, retiring as Senior Designer on January 1st of this year. He was a member of the Metal Draftsman Association. In his spare time, Tim enjoyed spending time working in his pristine yard. He was an avid hiker and particularly enjoyed the times he spent hiking the Appalachian Trail and the Grand Canyon. However, first and foremost Tim will be remembered for his love of his family in whom he took great pride.
He was married to Helen M. Molonson Moore in Groton on July 15, 2000. In addition to his father and wife, Tim is survived by his blended family, Timothy Moore Jr. of Cranston RI, Scott Moore of Sarasota FL, Robyn LaRoche of Hope, RI, Kevin Moore of Seattle, WA, Stacy Kurtz, Caroline Thomas, Bruce Thomas Jr., and Nathan Thomas, all of Groton; his siblings, Candace Reedy of Independence, VA and Todd Moore of Landis, NC, and 8 grandchildren.
His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday from 4pm-5:45pm, followed by a service at 6pm.
Tim’s family wished to acknowledge Hospice for the wonderful care Tim received during his illness.
