Joseph J. Cummings, 28, of Manchester, NH died Sunday January 30, 2011 at his home. Joseph was born in Dorchester, MA on February 15, 1982, son of Joseph R. and Donna M. (McIntyre) Cummings. He had resided in Manchester for the past 12 years, formerly living in Raymond, NH. Joseph attended Green Acres Elementary School in Manchester and The Learning Center School for the Deaf in Framingham, MA. He had later attended the Universal Technical Institute in Norwood, MA, and was currently enrolled in Manchester Community College. Joseph had worked for STS Bus Co. in Manchester as a monitor for the deaf children, and was presently employed as a diesel truck mechanic for McDevitt Motors in Manchester.
Joseph enjoyed camping, fishing, snowboarding and playing darts. He most importantly loved his family and friends, proudest of course of his daughter MacKenzie.
He is survived by his daughter, MacKenzie James of Manchester, his father, Joseph R. Cummings of Manchester, his mother, Donna M. (McIntyre) Cummings of Derry, his brother, Michael A. Cummings of Manchester, his paternal grandmother, Barbara (McCabe) DeCola of Derry, also many aunts, uncles, cousins and his girlfriend, Kendra. Joseph was a loving father to MacKenzie and her three sisters, Jordan, Hannah and Celeste. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Virginia Curtin-McIntyre of S. Boston, MA.
Calling hours were held on Thursday February 3rd from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry with cremation to follow.
