Betty Ann Tillman Courson, age 82, of Douglas GA passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas GA. Mrs. Courson, a native of Pearson GA, was born October 17, 1928; she is the daughter of the late Harley Lester and Iva Corbett Tillman and she is the widow of the late Clinton Cornelius Courson. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a retired Sun Trust bank teller. Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Harper officiating. Soloist, Hannah Peacock sang, “Amazing Grace” with Virginia Lewis, Pianist. Burial followed in the Douglas City Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Eddie Vickers, Wendell Sturgis, Danny Smith, Vance Rogers, Royce Peacock and Lamar Harper. Survivors: Daughters: Nancy Courson and Martha Anne Courson, Douglas GA, Granddaughter, Courtney Lauren Courson and Sister, Natalie Wagner, Douglas GA. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
