OBITUARY;PAXTON; John R. Bauer 93, died Monday, December 22nd at his home after an illness. His wife, Evelyn (Whittaker) Bauer pre-deceased him in 1974. He leaves two daughters; Suzanne K. Tatro of Worcester, Geraldine R. Argyle of Waterford, Michigan, a brother, James H. Bauer of Grafton, 8 grandchildren; Michael R. Tatro of Berlin, Maryland, James F. Tatro of Henderson, Nevada, Mark E. Tatro of West Millbury, Kathleen A. Mondor of Spencer, Steven E. Tatro and Robert J. Tatro both of Auburn, Jeffrey C. Argyle of Waterford, Michigan, Janice E. Argyle of Holly, Michigan, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, 2 nieces and a nephew. He also leaves a longtime and close friend, Doris Mignault of Paxton. A brother, Pierre Bauer pre-deceased him. Born in Nonon Court, France, he was the son of Marius & Henrietta (Barbey) Bauer and has lived in Paxton for over 27 years. Mr. Bauer was a graduate of Worcester Boy's Trade. He was a Junior machine designer for 20 years at Monsanto Co. in Decatur, Alabama, retiring in 1975. While there he had an intstruemental roll in the design of the machine that manufactures astro-turf. He was a volunteer for 28 years at the Leicester Council on Aging and called Bingo every Friday night for 22 years. He was awarded the 2002 Citizen of the Year award for volunteer work by the Paxton Senior Citizen Center. He was an avid bowler. The funeral will be held Saturday, December 27th from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, North Brookfield Rd., East Brookfield. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be Friday from 3-5 p.m. in the funeral home. At the families request please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to the Paxton Council on Aging, 17 West St., Paxton, MA 01612
