Ethel L. (Small) Collins, 83, 0f East Wareham formerly of Mansfield and East Foxboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 30, 2011 at the Bourne Manor in Bourne. She was the beloved wife of the late Warren H. Collins who died on January 1, 1992.
Born in Norwood, MA on May 31, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Oliver C. and Irene F. (Hezlitt) Small.
She grew up and was educated in East Foxboro. Ethel was a graduated with the class of 1945 at Foxboro High School. She had made her home in East Wareham for the past 5 years and had previously resided for many years in Mansfield.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Collins enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting.
She was the loving mother of Jay Collins and his wife Suzanne of East Wareham and the late Linda L. Durling and her late husband Charles Durling. The sister of Richard Small and the late Jackie Cartier and Jeannette McNamara, Mrs. Collins is also survived by her cherished 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Michael Durling.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday February 4th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday February 3rd from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
