Aurore (Belanger) Hamel a Salem, New Hampshire resident for over 50 years died Saturday morning at Salemhaven Nursing Home in Salem, she was 83 years old.
Mrs. Hamel was born and educated in Lawrence, MA and moved to Salem from Methuen. For many years she worked as a seamstress in several shops in the greater Lawrence area and she retired from the Bridal Loft in Salem, NH. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Salem VFW Memorial Post # 8546.
She was the widow Wilfred Hamel
Survivors include,2 daughters, Joanne Terramagra and her husband Tom of Salem, NH Diane Ward and her husband Joseph of Virginia
2 sons Paul Hamel and his wife Phyllis of Claremont, NH Roger Hamel and his wife Joyce of Sandown
5 grandchildren, 2 Great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at 12:30pm at St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH followed by burial.
