Millbury – Mr. Maurice A. DiGregorio, 84, passed away Friday January 28th at UMass Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Maurice is survived by his two sons, Maurice J. DiGregorio and his wife Madeleine of Webster, Robert J. DiGregorio and his wife Margaret of Millbury, two daughters, Ann Marie Gatti and her husband Lorenzo of Boca Raton, Florida, Maureen Kroll and her finance Scott Cobat of Millbury; five grandchildren, Alicia and Ashley DiGregorio, David and Joseph Kroll and Lorena Gatti; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by his brothers Vincent and Albert DiGregorio.
Maurice was born September 13, 1926 a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Oliver) DiGregorio. Loving husband to the late Shirley (Buck) DiGregorio.
A lifelong resident Maurice started at an early age working for his father’s excavating and contracting business up until 1956 when he began his own company. He continued in his family tradition as an excavator and general contractor up until 1980 when he move to Winter Haven, Florida.
In Florida, Maurice was involved in many local projects as a Developer and Builder and prior to his retirement helped develop the Venus Lake Properties in Winter Haven.
He was a member of the former St Margaret Mary’s Parish were he was very active helping with the church and as a fundraiser for the annual Bishop Fund. He was a volunteer at the Senior Center in Millbury in which he helped with the building’s maintanence.
Maurice was most happy when being with his family and helping them with everything from fixing cars to helping them build their homes.
His funeral will be held Tuesday February 1st from FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St. Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 11a.m. at St Anne Church in Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
