Jerry Lee Honeycutt, 78, of Tifton, formerly of Dunwoody, died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Dunwoody Baptist Church in Dunwoody. Rev. Denny Spear will officiate with a private burial to be held at a later date. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 5, 2011, in the social hall of Dunwoody Baptist Church in Dunwoody immediately following the service.
Mr. Honeycutt was born on February 22, 1932 in Salisbury, North Carolina and was the son of Lee Roy Honeycutt and Ollie Sherwood Honeycutt, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother. He was retired from IBM after 36 years, where he was a marketing support representative. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon group in Sandy Springs and had been a resident of Dunwoody from 1968-2009.
Mr. Honeycutt is survived by his wife, Frances Cannon Honeycutt, of Tifton; three sons and their wives, Lee and Marci Honeycutt, of Tifton, Peter and Debbie Hester of Woodstock and Ben and Amy Hester of Columbus, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Hunter and Madison Honeycutt, Lauren and Daniel Hester, Caitlin Hester and Maggie Hester.
